Did you know that 1 in 10 young people in Manchester have chlamydia?

Chlamydia is a common STI. It often doesn't have obvious symptoms so lots of people who have it don't know it. It can lead to long-term health problems such as infertility (not being able to have children) if it isn't treated.

RU Clear is the chlamydia testing programme for Greater Manchester. All young people who are sexually active are being encouraged to get tested for chlamydia.

RU Clear chlamydia tests are free and painless. There is no poking or probing involved, you just need to ‘pee in a pot' in private. Your urine will be tested for chlamydia and another common STI called gonorrhoea. These infections can be treated with a simple course of tablets.

It's really easy to get a chlamydia test. If you are aged under 25, you can get a free test from:

• Brook clinic (under 20s)
• Fresh clinics (under 25s)
• Palatine contraception and sexual health clinics (all ages)
• Some GPs and pharmacies

You can get a free chlamydia screening kit sent to you. All you need to do is have a pee, and send a small sample back to the lab in the freepost envelope provided.
